Al-Ahly of Egypt defeated Urawa of Japan 4-2 during the match that brought them together on Friday evening, at Prince Al-Jawhara Stadium in Jeddah, in the match to determine the bronze medal in the 2023 Club World Cup, currently being held in Saudi Arabia. Al-Ahly scored for Al-Ahly: Yasser Ibrahim in the 19th minute, Percy Tau in the 25th minute, Yoshio Koizumi with an own goal in the 60th minute, and Tunisian star Ali Maaloul concluded the quartet in the 90th+8 minute. With this victory, Al-Ahly achieved its fourth bronze medal throughout the history of its participation in the Club World Cup, having previously achieved it in 2006 at the expense of Mexico's Club America, 2020 at the expense of Brazilian Palmeiras, 2021 at the expense of Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, and finally Japan's Urawa in the current edition, 2023
